Ear piercings has been practiced all over the world since ancient times. There is considerable written and archaeological evidence of the practice. Ear piercing is the oldest form of body piercings with references dating into the early history of mankind.
Ear piercing has been popular in Western style societies for many years now. At first it would be done by someone in the family using a hot darningneedle and a cork from a bottle at the back of the ear.
In the US, the concept of pierced ears can date back well before the 1920 but would fall in favor of women preferring to opt with a new product known as the clip-on ear ring.
