Dermatophyte

Dermatophyte is a skin fungus that caused skin disease commonly in human, pets, and cattle, skin disease that caused by dermatophyte also known as Ringworm or Tinea.

The dermatophytes invade and feed the dead keratin of nails, hair and skin and usually do not invade living tissues, but colonize the outer layer of the skin.


Infection is generally cutaneous and restricted to the nonliving corniļ¬ed layers because of the inability of the fungi to penetrate the deeper tissues or organs of immunocompetent hosts.
